That exam sucked in so many ways

To start with, while I've been busy revising Totalitarianism, I should have been revising General Francisco Franco and the Spanish Civil War as well as other communist related topics but I got my dates mixed up which really didn't help.
Granted I could answer the question on Franco and did so to the best of my ability but the second section of the exam made me want to scream. Basically we had to figure out what the difference between communism and socialism was and then try and answer a question, using at least three specific examples, based on why the challenges faced by socialism meant it never took off in the Soviet Union.
For the life of me I just couldn't remember the difference between communism and socialism to begin with and, as it was advertised as a multiple choice question, I think we should have actually been given a choice in the second section. We weren't. That peeved me off something rotten.
Needless to say, I walked out in disgust. Each question is worth 50% so I stand a chance on just answering one question although I expect to have to resit.
Anyway, on other matters, yesterday was my first day of 'training' at Somerfield. That consisted of me standing there and watching like a gormless idiot while one of the more experienced ladies showed me what to do, over and over and over for three hours.
By the end of my shift, my smile had become a little strained because a few people kept coming up to me and asking why I was ignoring them. You don't half get annoyed telling people the same thing over and over again thats for sure.
I think my problem is university. It taught me to think and to question and analyse and look at different ways of doing things and what I can do to argue my corner in a political situation. Working at Somerfield requires none of these so eventually, my brain shut down in self defence.
I don't think the customers noticed, they were either too hot, too old or had kids demanding their attention every five seconds so whether or not I was paying attention was a task too far for them I think.
To be honest, I stopped caring whether or not they noticed my lack of attention. Knowing what their Darren did with Tracey and Lynn's reaction to them doing it on the settee was a little too much by way of information for an everyday checkout assistant.
I did however learn that Coffee is a big hit among theives, as is batteries and razor blades and that old people steal things too. I wonder why people steal coffee, I figure if you're going to steal something, go for something big that will make people giggle in morbid admiration at your antics in the world of theft, don't just take everyday stuff, it isn't worth the record that goes with it.
I'm not advocating theft, I just find that some of the things people steal is ridiculous in the overall scheme of things.
Anyway, I have to get back to Totalitarianism for the exam tomorrow so I'll update then.
